Enrolling in the program

Sign-up takes about five minutes and eight short steps. Have your address, debit card, vehicle registration cards and phone nearby and you'll be done in a few minutes.

Spots are limited — first come, first served. We're accepting registrations until either all spots are filled or end of day October 4th, whichever comes first. Once either happens, registration closes and you won't be able to sign up.

The 9 steps

  1. Download One Car Challenge app

App is available on the App Store and Google Play Store.

  2. Program Rules
A short read-through of how the pilot works. Tap Continue at the bottom.

  3. Your Address
Tell us where you live. This is how we confirm you're in LA County.

  4. Consents
You'll see two consent screens — one for GoCarma (the app that powers the pilot) and one for the One Car Challenge itself. Read each and agree to continue.

  5. Account Creation
Enter your details, then verify by phone and email.

  6. Payment Method
Choose how you'd like to be paid: a debit card (direct deposit via Stripe) or your email address (a virtual Visa via Tremendous).

  7. Link Your TAP Card (optional)
If you already have an LA Metro TAP card, link it here so trips count automatically.

  8. App Permissions
Allow location and notifications. We need location to verify the parked vehicle's status. Notifications are how we'll remind you about your Sunday odometer report.

  9. Add Your Vehicles
Add every vehicle in your household — not just the one you plan to park. You can add vehicles until October 6th; after that, you won't be able to add more. Households that don't add all their vehicles may be disqualified from the pilot, so make sure this step is complete before the window closes.

That's it — you're enrolled. The next thing you'll see is your assigned cohort and the dates your pilot runs.
